Nature Hunt~ Leaf Matching Game

This post may contain affiliate links.

We went on a leaf hunt and found some matching pairs of leaves out in our yard. My little guy loved helping me pick leaves from the different plants in our yard. We used the leaves to make a little leaf matching game.Make a Leaf Matching Game out of real leaves- great Nature study and play for kids!

How to Make the Leaf Matching Game:

After finding a variety of leaf pairs outside, I simply pressed them between clear contact paper and cut around the shapes.
Then we mixed them up and made a matching game out of it.
My little one loved doing this and kept at it for a while. He was so proud of himself when he found all of the matches!
I am not really sure how long the leaves will last between the contact paper or if they will go bad after a while, but for now it is a fun hands-on learning experience for my little one.
(Update- after a couple of weeks, the leaves did start to go bad)
We have a montessori preschool class at our homeschool-co-op and this leaf matching game was a great seasonal activity to add in for our Autumn montessori jobs!
