Last week, I shared the science curriculum we have been using. This week I'll share our favorite social studies resources.
Geography: We are using Little Passports as well as Knowledge Quest Maps, and lots of world map puzzles.

We use Time4Learning as our core social studies curriculum, but my daughter likes to "experience" things not just read about them, so we try to visit a lot of historical battlefields, parks, and memorials associated with the segment of history we are studying. It is amazing how a little study, with a lot of real world, makes for enjoyable and memorable social studies chapters! We have tried SOTW off and on, but with borrowed materials, so we always had to return them just when it got interesting. Might try that again...Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWe're using SOTW Book 2 as well, and we love love LOVE it!! I found SOTW as a supplementary resource with Tapestry of Grace, and when we couldn't carry all of our TOG books with us this year, we condensed down to SOTW. I haven't been disappointed, it's been a great year!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your Social Studies picks with the Virtual Curriculum Fair!
ReplyDeleteWe also love SOTW. This year we are using book 3. :o)
