Are you enjoying your summer?  I have a fun summer garden craft for you.  My kids have really been having fun with this little recycled garden craft. This will have your kids begging to water the garden.  It is an elephant watering can made out of milk jugs!  It is very fun and simple to make.

How To Make an Elephant Watering Can:

You will need just a few supplies to make this cute recycled craft.
2 Milk jugs, rinsed out

Begin by saving two milk jugs and washing them out with warm soapy water.
Cut the handle off one of the milk jugs- this will be the trunk of your elephant.  Make sure to leave a bit of an edge around the handle when you cut it off. You will need space for gluing and attaching it.  On the smaller end, cut little slits around the edge.

These slits are going to help you to wrap it around the milk cap.  Save one of the milk caps and cut holes in it so the water can pour through.  Glue the cap into the end that you cut the slits, wrapping it around the cap.
Mine looks pretty messy- I kept burning my fingers. Ha Ha!  (Try not to do this!)
To make your watering can look like an elephant, cut ears out of craft foam, and two circles a little larger than your eyes to put behind the googly eyes.  Glue all of these on with the hot glue gun as well.  When the glue from the cap has cooled, you can screw on the trunk.

Once all of the glue is dried and secure, you can start using it!  To fill the can, remove the trunk and fill with water through the top of the milk jug.
Little brother really wants to get in on the action.
