Today I want to share with you a review for the Homeschool Spanish Academy.   This program is amazing!  I have tried a few different language programs to help my kids to learn Spanish and none have compared to this program.

What You Get With Homeschool Spanish Academy:

You get a half-hour one-on-one lesson with a native Spanish speaker through Skype.  Our teacher, Nora, was in Guatemala and we adored her.  She was so warm and interacted with all of us.

You can choose a once a week lesson plan or a twice a week plan.  The lessons are scheduled through a program called Schedulicity- which is so simple to use.  You log on and choose your time and day each week.  They send you a confirmation e-mail and also a reminder a day ahead of the lesson.  Then when it is time for your lesson, you log on to Skype and wait for your teacher to call.

Before the lessons began, we received a call from a techuical support person who made sure that our computer was ready to go and working right. He also called us after we had a technical difficulty in one of our lessons to make sure things were running smoothly on our end. I was very impressed the all of the support we recieved.

In our first lesson, she talked with my son to see how much Spanish he knew.  She had slide that she put up on the screen with pictures and words to help him see what they were discussing.  He had so much fun and really enjoyed the lesson.

She really pushed him when he spoke in Spanish.  She made him answer in complete sentances rather than the one-word answers he was trying to give.  I loved it!  After each lesson was over, we got an email with a homework assignment that we turned in (also by email) to her when completed.

The homework lessons were brief, and were a great review of the concepts that they discussed.  One thing I noticed was that she would skip quickly through lessons if he already knew what was being covered.  I liked this because the lessons were really tailored to him.  We have completed six lessons so far- our last one will actually be this afternoon.

My son learned so much in these lessons.  I am amazed to hear him speaking with his teacher and hear the improvements he has made in just a few weeks.  Having native speakers really makes a huge difference in learning a language.  Plus, a one-on-one lesson is so wonderful!  W also really loved the flexibility of choosing a day and time that worked for us- you can reschedule 24 hours in advance if you need to.

I highly, highly recommend the Homeschool Spanish Academy program!!  They have varying levels.  We did the early language program for elementary learners, but there are also middle school, high school, and adult levels to choose from.  You can also choose to have two students in the lesson at once.  You can try a class for free and see how it works if you are interested.

I received a half semester of lessons for free in exchange for an honest review.  I was not compensated in any other way.
