I recently received a copy of the book, His Mighty Warrior: A Treasure Map from Your King, by Sheri Rose Shepherd to review. I have been reading it to my kids at night before bed. It's a darling book, but also very inspiring.
It is a series of letters from God to a boy telling him what a great man he will become someday. Each page has a letter from God to the boy and a response from the boy back to God asking for help with things that he is struggling with. There are also scripture references throughout the book.
The book has lovely illustrations. The whole theme is going on adventure- becoming a mighty warrior. There are scenes of searching for treasure- as that is what we are doing- in a spiritual sense. My daughter actually calls it the "pirate book" because there are pictures of pirates and treasure, maps, parrots, ships, and oceans.
What I love about it is how it talks about the potential we have as children of God. We are all His children and can do so much if we put our trust in Him. I love the encouraging words and the great reminders of what we can become.
My family was blessed by having the opportunity to read this book. It brought about some very meaningful discussions. I love books that do that!
