Apps for Learning

Time for another segment of my favorite learning apps. Just about all of the apps in iTunes work for both the iPad & the iPhone.
Presidents vs. Aliens This is a great game to teach about all of the presidents of the U.S. it has pictures, facts & dates about them. I printed out a list of the presidents for my son & he carries it around to help him play this game. It is amazing how well a child can learn something through a fun little game. Lite version is free…
Kindle This is an app to read books on your iPad or iPhone. It’s free, & there are TONS of free classics you can download. We have been having fun reading lots of children’s classics.
Chore Pad I LOVE this app. It has really motivated my kids with their chores. You fill in the chores you want them to do & the days that you want them to do it. Then you can set up a reward system. You choose how many stars you want each chore to be worth. Then with the stars they can “purchase” rewards. I set up rewards like: 25 cents, park, pizza, ice cream, video game time, etc. You could use anything that would motivate your kids. My kids are so excited to check off their chores and save up for different rewards.
SparkleFish This is kind of like Mad Libs, but you talk into the microphone, then it tells you back the story with your voice. It’s really fun. We play with it a lot. It’s helping my kids learn what verbs, nouns and adjectives are…
Ansel & Claire’s Adventures in Africa I paid a few dollars for this one, but I am so glad. It is a great app that teaches so many concepts. both my 4-year-old and 6-year-old love playing it. I wish they would make more of these games for the different continents. We love it!
Art Museum This is an amazing app that lets you view hundreds of images from the Los Angeles Art museum. It’s wonderful for your art study…
